Strategic Salon Marketing

Nadia Arain owned a day spa and went on to be a very successful business woman. Recently she talked with The Salon Magazine about what she noticed was a major issue with marketing in the beauty industry in general. What she had to say was very interesting.

Marketing is tough, that’s why so many business actually hiring it out to marketing agencies, but most salon/spa owners can’t afford that- especially when they’re starting out. The key to marketing when you can’t hire it out, Arain says, is being strategic. What she had to learn to do was be okay to spend a little to make a lot more. Basically she conferred with a consultant on how to plan the best strategy and then carried it out in-house. Arain calls not wanting to spend anything on marketing advice “poverty mentality”, because it keeps a small amount of money with you now when you could be making a large amount later.
