Marketing To Men

As men come into their own when it comes to grooming (finally!) they are turning to salons. Yes, men still often go to barbers, but there’s no reason why you should ignore such a large portion of the market. But how do you market to men? Well, a little knowledge goes a long way.

Sales of grooming supplies to men have gone up over the years from $2.2 billion dollars in 2006 to $2.6 billion in 2012, and the estimates for 2016 are $3.2 billion dollars. It’s time we got ourselves a slice of that pie. Realize that it’s the younger men getting on the grooming train- the older generation is sticking to barbers, buzz cuts, and questionable habits.

A particularly interesting statistic is that men are more loyal- at least when it comes to shopping and services. So if you get a guy into your shop you are more likely to have a return customer.
